Back by Popular Demand: Maidenhead's most anticipated musical showdown is back in the calendar by popular demand – it's time for the Battle of the Bands! Prepare yourself for an electrifying event that champions the amazing local talent Berkshire has to offer.
🎤 Open to All Genres: Calling all ensembles, electronic maestros, rock aficionados, and beyond – this competition is your stage! Maidenhead Battle of the Bands is a celebration of emerging talent at the cutting edge of the new music scene. Whether you're a solo act with a synthesizer or a full-fledged rock band ready to unleash a sonic storm, we want to hear from you.
🥁 Defining Full Bands: In the spirit of diversity, we categorise a full band as one that uses a complete drum kit in their set or comprises groups of more than three musicians. It's an open invitation to musical innovators who break the mould and redefine the traditional band setup.
🌟 Two Nights of Musical Mayhem: The Battle unfolds over two thrilling nights at Potion & Motion. And here's the kicker – the winning band from each epic clash will secure a coveted spot on our main stage at the Maidenhead Festival a the warm-up act on either Saturday, July 20th or Sunday, July 21st.
It's an event not to be missed, setting the stage for a summer filled with musical brilliance!

Apply to battle it out
- All musical genres welcome!
- We categorise a full band as one that uses a complete drum kit in their set or comprises groups of more than three musicians.
- All ages welcome (under 16's must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
- Closing date for applications for Round 1 is 1st March 2024
- Closing date for applications for Round 2 is 19th April 2024
- Bands will be chosen to compete based on their artistic ability and instrumentation. We will review all applications and select a maximum of 5 bands to compete.
- This competition is for amateur musicians only. Bands signed by any record company (including independent record labels) are not eligible to compete.
- Absolutely no lip-syncing, backing track vocals or karaoke.
- Bands must be available to perform on 22nd March for Round 1, or 10th May for Round 2
- Bands must be available to perform at Maidenhead Festival on 20th and 21st July 2024
